We’re proud to share that De Ganados y Hombres, our feature film project, has been awarded the prestigious Fundación Carolina Grant 2025.

As part of this recognition, Mauricio Montes and  Lina Ferrari will travel to Madrid, Spain, to participate in a dynamic program that includes:

• One-on-one project development sessions with leading industry professionals

• Masterclasses in screenwriting, production, and international co-production

• Networking events with European producers and decision-makers

• Meetings with funds, broadcasters, and potential co-producers

De Ganados y Hombres is a feature-length screenplay adapted from the novel of the same name by acclaimed Brazilian author Ana Paula Maia. The script has been developed by Ajna Cinema’s writers' room — Mauricio Montes, Oscar Adán, and Lina Ferrari.

The project was selected for the BAM Stories section at the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) 2025, where it received guidance from Spanish script doctor Yolanda Barrasa, and now continues its journey with the support of the Fundación Carolina Grant.

This opportunity marks a major step forward in bringing De Ganados y Hombres to life — a powerful and thought-provoking film directed by Marcus Baldini and produced by Ajna Cinema in association with Kromaki (Brazil) and Dos Monkeys (Colombia).

We’re proud to announce that our original fiction miniseries Cansado de Ser Feliz was nominated for Best Fiction Miniseries at the prestigious India Catalina Awards 2025.

Produced in coproduction with Laberinto TV, this series competed alongside major productions with significantly larger budgets. While we didn’t take home the award, the nomination alone is a powerful recognition of the heart, vision, and commitment behind the project.

Cansado de Ser Feliz was created from a deeply personal story rooted in Lina Ferrari’s relationship with her father, which gives it special meaning within our company. It was developed with love, patience, and a clear creative vision, showing that powerful stories don’t need big budgets—just truth and dedication.

The miniseries was an original idea by Lina Ferrari and Mauricio Montes, co-written by Lina Ferrari, Mauricio Montes, and Óscar Adán, and directed by Mauricio Montes. The executive producer was Andrea Corzo, who led the production with precision and heart.

This recognition reaffirms our belief in stories that matter—and in the creative force of collaborative, independent filmmaking.

 Ajna Cinema is expanding its footprint in the United States through two key partnerships: Cielo Mesa in Houston and Jaime Amado in Miami.

From Houston, Cielo brings her ability to simplify complex processes and connect U.S. partners with Ajna’s Latin American creatives. She ensures cross-border projects run seamlessly—aligning scope, budgets, crews, and approvals while keeping communication clear and dependable. Her approach builds trust and makes international collaborations feel local.

With over a decade of experience in the audiovisual industry, Jaime contributes strategic vision, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the U.S. market. His career has been defined by building trust-based relationships and delivering production solutions that balance creativity with precision.
